Radiology is a branch of Medicine concerned with use of radiant energy ( such as X ray) or radioactive material in the diagnosis & treatment of diseases. Radiology is now the key diagnostic tool for many diseases and has an important role in monitoring treatment & predicting outcome. It has number of imaging modalities ( x ray, CT scan, MRI, USG,PET scan) in its armamentarium which have differing physical principles of varying complexity.

Department of Radiology started in year 2014 with course Diploma in CT scan and Diploma in MRI Scan with 30 students in each

AIM

“To educate & Train young students with the existing and emerging concept of Paramedical & Allied health Science in respect to diagnostic radiography

Diagnostic radiographers employ a range of different imaging techniques and sophisticated equipment to produce high quality images of an injury or disease. They take the images using range of techniques including: X-rays, Mammography, Fluoroscopy, CT (computed tomography), MRI (magnetic resonance imaging), Nuclear medicine, Angiography etc.

Presently the Department of Radiology is offering the following courses

** Commencement of BMRIT course is in Process, Institute is committed to start this course in upcoming session.

Labs, Library & Infrastructure

  • Radiology academic block has 08 centrally air-conditioned lecture theaters in amphitheater arrangement (each has a capacity of 90 students) with overhead projector installed for Integrated Digital classes.
  • Department of Radiology is equipped with state of art laboratories which offers highly advance training atmospheres to its student also encourages research work for its academic staff.
  • labs are equipped with State of Art radiology equipment including, MRI, CT Scan, Digital Radiography,CR,Mammography etc.
  • Central and Departmental Library with more than 1500 books

Research and Developmental Activities:

The department of Radiology actively involves in various research and developmental programs. The department has successfully organized various workshops.

ACHIEVEMENTS

  1. Mr Rajkumar Chahar has secured Gold Medal in Radiation Safety Course conducted By BHABHA ATOMIC RESEARCH CENTRE,(BARC) Mumbai.
  2. Raj kumar chahar has published paper “Radiation Hazards & Protection “in ISRT National Journal .
  3. Mr Rajkumar Chahar has delieverd a lecture in National Seminar on Responsibility and Ethics for Radiographer at UPUMS Saifai.
  4. Mr Rajkumar Chahar was invited as Guest Speaker on Topic of “Radiation hazards and Protection” in National Conference at KGMU Lucknow 2018.
  5. Raj kumar chahar has undergone many clinical training and research work in many prestigeous institutes including AIIMS New delhi,Omega Hospital Hyderabad(A unit of Hyderabad institute of Oncology)
  6. Attended Many national & international coferenes.
